As we celebrate one year of Doré, one of the things we are most proud of is our commitment to transparency when it comes to our formulations and our packaging. When we set out to create this brand, we knew it was essential that the trust we built with our community over the 15+ years of the blog extended into how we developed our products. We’re not chemists or sustainability experts, but luckily after more than 15 years, we knew a few people that were.

The biggest misconception about anything simple is that it’s just that - simple. The most simple things in life are often created with the most complexity, yielding an end result that is refined, easily accessed and understood.

As we approach our first birthday, we are taking some time this month to reflect on and celebrate what’s at the core of Doré. And there’s nothing that defines us more than our French-ness.

Witch hazel is a natural astringent derived from the leaves and bark of the witch hazel shrub. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and is currently having a moment in skincare.
