Describe your style in three words.
Elegant and timeless, but also colorful.
What do you want people to feel when they walk into your home — or any of the spaces that you’ve designed?
I want them to feel welcome and comfortable, as if the room has always been awaiting them. I like the feeling of walking into a space that is expecting you.
Your home utilizes a lot of pink and purple, but manages to still have a very grown up, sophisticated look. How do you elevate colors that have such a young and girly connotation?
The pink fabric is rather coral and the purple is a bit grey-lilac. Nuances in tones are very important. Yes there are colors but they are muted, they have to flow and melt into the rest. The pink table reminds me of a surfboard.
What do you do to inspire your creativity when you’ve hit a road block?
I look at how the lights and shadows work around me. The way they change the hue of a color and shapes.
Do your fashion choices ever influence your interior choices? Do you see a correlation between the two, or are they distinct forms of creativity for you?
I think they are very much the same thing. How to decorate a space, dress a table, make a bouquet or dress up for the day or the evening. It is all a combination of elements which are meant to make things or people look good and highlight their strengths. My fashion influences my interior design when it comes to color, location, and lighting. You can tell that my fashion and interiors are related.
