Cyndle is a New York City based makeup artist who recently graced our homepage when she kindly obliged to model for our plaid story. In addition to wearing makeup well, she also wears clothes well, both when we dress her (by “we” I mean Rachel), and in her everyday life. We followed her around East Williamsburg to capture three looks. Meet Cyndle!
Describe your style in 3 words.
Classic, uniform, tailored.
What is your ideal outfit or uniform to wear every day
A good pair of trousers and either cashmere sweater or crisp white button down.
Who are your style icons?
Lauren Hutton, Charlotte Rampling.
How has being a makeup artist in NYC, working with some of the top creatives, impacted or influenced your style?
It’s absolutely had an impact on my style. Working side by side with stylists and designers, I am exposed to the most creative/unexpected ways to wear clothing. I am also married to a photographer who likes to take a lot of photos of our life together- I see myself in a lot of photos! I’ve learned over the years what looks good on my body and what proportions look best and I just stick with that.
Do you have any rules for styling clothes with specific makeup looks?
To me there aren’t any rules when it comes to makeup. I think its all in your personality and what makes you feel confident. If wearing crazy patterns clothing and a red lip at the same time is your thing, more power to you!
